Which is better, rayon or cotton?
Both rayon and cotton have their own advantages.
Rayon is a viscose fabric that is often referred to by ordinary people, and its main component is viscose staple fiber. It has the comfort of cotton, the toughness and strength of polyester, and the soft fall of silk.
Cotton refers to clothing or articles with 100% cotton content, generally plain cloth, poplin, twill, denim, etc. Different from ordinary cloth, it has the advantages of deodorization, breathability and comfort.
Their differences are as follows:
First,The raw materials are different. Pure cotton is cotton, cotton fiber, which is a natural plant fiber; rayon is a combination of wood fibers such as sawdust, plants, straw, etc., and belongs to chemical fibers;
Second, the yarn is different. Cotton is white and strong, but cotton has neps and different thickness; rayon is weak, but uniform in thickness, and its color is better than cotton;
Three, the cloth surface is different. Cotton raw materials have many defects; rayon is less; the tear strength of cotton is higher than that of rayon. Rayon is better than cotton in color;
Fourth, the feel characteristics are different. Rayon feels softer and has a stronger drape than cotton; but its wrinkle resistance is not as good as cotton, and it is easy to wrinkle;
How to distinguish these two fabrics?
Artificial cotton has good luster and smooth hand feeling, and it is easy to distinguish it from cotton yarn.
First. Water absorption method. Put the rayon and all-cotton cloths into the water at the same time, so the piece that absorbs water and sinks quickly is rayon, because rayon absorbs water better.
Second, the touch method. Touch these two fabrics with your hands, and the smoother one is rayon.
Three, observation method. Carefully observe the two fabrics, the glossy one is rayon.
